Socialisation for vision impaired at The Fraternity Club

For the past 10 years a small group of vision-impaired have called The Fraternity Club its home on a Friday.

They call themselves Exsight Tandems Illawarra and meet once a week at the club for socialisation, banter, a hot meal and a few games of dominos.

The name ‘tandem’ came about because of the group’s association with providing tandem bicycle rides for the vision impaired.

But it’s at The Frat on a Friday lunchtime where the group is most active. “We’re very grateful to The Frat. It’s an afternoon of part-meal, part-games and part-socialisation,” group member Geoff said.

More information can be found on the Exsight Tandems Illawarra page on Facebook.
