Clubs NSW hosted a celebratory dinner featuring celebrity chefs Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel for the winners of the Perfect Plate 2021.
On Wednesday 15th September 2021 Clubs NSW crowned the Fraternity Club as winners of the ClubsNSW Perfect Plate competition in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven region and medium sized club category.
Nearly 10 months later, The Fraternity Club was able to claim the prize, attending a special evening with Colin, Manu and Clubs NSW representatives for a special dinner. Head Chef Mauri Villella and up and coming chef Shavanah Skilton had the opportunity to cook the winning dish, Carbonara Tartufata with the celebrity chefs in their state-of-the-art commercial kitchen.
The event was held at La Botanique, a fantastic new catering and event space designed by Manu Feildel.
Fraternity Club Head Chef Mauri Villella was thrilled at the opportunity to showcase his kitchens’ talents and take out the prize. “Winning this competition is like winning a grand final in soccer. This is the highlight of my career. It’s something that I’m very proud of on a personal level and it’s really incredible for the Fraternity Club”
“As we were in lockdown we all had to watch the live stream of the award ceremony but I know everyone jumped out of their chair like I did, when the Fraternity Club was announced as the winner”
The opportunity to cook with idols was something that Shavanah will never forget “It’s amazing. Colin and Manu are so much fun and it’s great to be able to learn so much from them” she said.
General Manager Greg Field was extremely proud of his team’s effort in producing the wonderful food available at the club “The Perfect Plate awards was a new initiative by ClubsNSW to showcase the wonderful quality and variety of club food in NSW. We are very pleased to be one of the winners of the very first award”.
