Il Bene's First Wedding

For newly married couple Mario and Silvana Conti, love is sprinkled with loads of affection, a topping of devotion and an extra serving of heartfelt warmth.

These special ingredients were on the menu recently when the couple enjoyed their wedding reception at The Fraternity Club’s new Il Bene’s pizza restaurant.

Rather than choose a large and expensive venue, the couple opted for the more intimate setting of the pizza restaurant, much to the delight of guests. Not only did the guests enjoy fine pizza dining, it was the first time the restaurant had hosted a wedding celebration.

“It was the best day ever,” a thrilled Silvana said. “We had so much fun and received friendly, genuine service in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Both Mario, 48, and Silvana, 39, agreed the food was delicious and with the addition of some unplanned musical entertainment, the night was a memorable occasion.

“Our evening was made even better when a ukulele player suddenly appeared,” Silvana said. “There was a ukulele group playing at the club and when they heard about our wedding reception, a member of the group kindly came into the restaurant and played two songs. We all danced. It was just fantastic.”

The relaxed setting also enabled the couple’s three-year-old son Rafael to join the celebrations, adding to the special occasion.

“Rafael had an absolute ball. He loved the pizza,” Silvana said.

For both Mario and Silvana, future plans are filled with excitement and good times. Silvana, from Wollongong, recently spent three years living in Turin, Italy, with her husband and son. Now residing in Mount Ousley and just minutes from The Fraternity, the loving couple plan to spend many hours enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Illawarra, and the fine coffee, friendship and quality pizza that the club offers each day.
