Doni feels at home at The Fraternity Club

The saying ‘home is where the heart is’ could be attributed to Doni Folino’s fondness for The Fraternity Club.

As the club’s bistro floor manager, Doni says he “feels at home” whenever he steps into the club. His wide smile and bubbly personality have made him a popular employee, who prides himself on providing a homely environment for members and guests.

“I am recognised by my big smile and the employee who is always happy,” he said. “I love the warmth among the friends, members and guests.” Staff often refer to The Frat as their “second home”.

Since its foundation in 1952, the club has welcomed the public through its doors with a tradition based on friendship and camaraderie. “The Fraternity Club was the place to be back in my teenage days and it’s great to see this is happening today for all the Illawarra people,” Doni said.

“This is a family-oriented club where all ages come to have fun, catch up with family and enjoy the good food and coffee. “As the bistro floor manager, I strive to deliver great customer service and great food to everyone who walks through the door.

“The club has now become my second home and the members now have become my second family.” Doni, 42, has spent 18 successful months with The Frat, starting in a casual position in the functions area before moving on to fulltime employment.

“I love helping to run the banquets and celebrations, and watching people enjoy the food and leaving happy,” he said. “It is great to see the business is growing. I am proud to be part of it and proud to be in a great team of people.”

Outside of work hours Doni also enjoys spending time at home, catching up with family and friends for coffee or dinner, and morning walks around Wollongong harbour.
