EROS Big Band

Now playing at Fraternity Club Fairy Meadow on the 1st Thursday of each month throughout 2021.

Entry to the dance is $10.00 at the door with the bar being open from 7pm & dance time is 7.30pm till 10.00pm

The band was originally formed over 40 years ago by Maurice Easton and was called “YROS” big band, YROS being an acronym for “Young Rockers & Old Swingers”.

Over the years the young rockers have become not so young & the name was changed to a less Specific, “EROS” big Band.

The band still contains a mixture of professional, semi-professional, amateur & student musicians & plays a cross section of swing, latin, rock & the odd waltz.

Under the direction of Des Cannings & management of John Smith, EROS have been performing dance nights consecutively for 8 years at a well known Wollongong Venue, which, due to Covid 19 and renovations have been unable to accommodate the band since March 2020.

A discussion between John Smith & the Frat has resulted in this unique product being adopted by Fraternity Club with a resounding success on April 1st.

Regulars came back & new faces were welcomed.
